About Us
FacetWest Industries is a family run business, located in the Kootenay Boundary region of beautiful British Columbia, Canada. James Katasonoff started his training in 1998 when he met his beautiful wife, Brooke (that's me!!) and her family of 3rd generation European Goldsmiths. He was very eager to learn, so Brooke's father and grandfather took him on as an apprentice. With his intense passion of jewellery making and ever growing eagerness, James was determined to know everything there was to know about the jewellery industry. And so...this was where the madness began!!! On top of becoming a professional and talented goldsmith and avid "rockhound" (so avid that I was afraid we'd both die in a tragic car accident, cause he'd rather look at the mountains, hillsides and ditches instead of watching the road while driving), James also became a Graduate Gemologist through the Gemological Institute of America in 2003.
In 2006 we had our first born, Anika and almost exactly a year later we had a little baby boy, Lex. They've turned our lives upside down and sideways. It's been fun and it's been crazy, but through it all, James has never given up on his passion. His next "craze" is to finally share his talent with the world!! So, with a little help from his wife in the designing department and running of the website, we welcome you to FacetWest Industries!!! We look forward to helping you find your next treasures....
